Ferrybridge Multifuel 2 is one of the most efficient Waste to Energy plants in the UK. It supplies homes and businesses with electricity and helps prevent thousands of tonnes of waste from ending up in landfill every year. With a remarkable boiler capacity of 117 MW thermal, FM 2 matches the outstanding performance of its sister plant, Ferrybridge Multifuel 1, which was also constructed by Hitachi Zosen. During FM 2’s three-year construction phase around 300 steady jobs were created, involving a considerable number of local companies.
