The City of Dubai chose a joint venture between Hitachi Zosen Inova and BESIX (Belgium) to build the biggest WtE plant in the world. The two companies are general contractors for the turnkey plant, as well as serving as operators and minority shareholders in the project company for 35 years. It’s not just the size of the plant that’s impressive: net energy efficiency of more than 31% also puts it at the very top of the international rankings. Delivery of the project is a key componentof Dubai’s sustainability strategy.
