Hitachi Zosen Inova opens subsidiary in Sydney

Australian branch ensures proximity to clients and partners in Oceania.
With its new office in Australia, Hitachi Zosen Inova has opened another international branch. This will enable the company to establish proximity to regional markets and potential partners.
The official legal registration of its new branch office in Sydney in February 2015 marks a further expansion in the global presence of Zurich-based Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI). With some 570 reference projects worldwide, HZI is one of the leading providers of turnkey plants for thermal and biological energy recovery from waste. The company’s expansion in Australia comes in response to the trend of rising landfill fees in certain states and the ambitious recycling targets. Over the long term, waste management in Australia can be expected to move away from landfill solutions toward waste treatment facilities.
Closer client relationships thanks to regional presence
Following the cooperation with teams in India, in the US as well as Europe, the newly established Hitachi Zosen Inova Australia (HZIA) is the next international team to start local activities.
“The good relationships we at HZI enjoy with our clients are based on trust, and the fact that we address their individual needs and deliver our projects on time and on budget,” said HZI CEO Franz-Josef Mengede, adding: “This calls for close and personal cooperation.”
The company will be set up in Sydney over the coming months, and is to be headed by Managing Director Dr. Marc Stammbach. The move will allow HZI to establish a regional presence and to be close to its clients and local partners. “This will reduce response times, while also strengthening our personal ties with our clients. The proximity will also have a direct and lasting positive impact on the economic and operational efficiency of our projects,” said Franz-Josef Mengede.
