High Recognition for Biogas Technology

ATEE certifies high quality and excellent environmental protection standards of HZI’s wet anaerobic digestion and upgrading technology

Hitachi Zosen Inova has received Qualimétha certification for its biogas technology. The quality label conferred by the Association Technique Energie Environnement for players in the biogas industry in France was awarded to the German subsidiary HZI BioMethan in June for its wet anaerobic digestion and gas upgrading plants.

Zeven, Germany. The Qualimétha label is a “manifesto of good technical, financial and contractual practice” created by the French Association Technique Energie Environnement (ATEE), an organisation dedicated to optimising energy management and environmental protection, in its biogas division ATEE Club Biogaz. Since the beginning of this year the label has been awarded to manufacturers of biogas technology – including HZI BioMethan – that fully meet the certification criteria. In addition to the candidate company’s project and construction management, the certifiers also scrutinise health and safety, HR and sales.

The label doesn’t just certify compliance with high quality standards. “Certification also carries great weight when it comes to financing plants,” emphasises HZI BioMethan Managing Director Jens Becker. “In the course of project development it also helps with cooperation with banks, investors, authorities and insurance companies.”

Certification is conferred for three years, during which time regular monitoring audits take place. Becker also mentions another benefit for plant operators: “This also guarantees continuous, state-of-the-art process optimisation and plant development.”
