On 1 November 2020 Carsten Stölting has taken over the role as Managing Director of Hitachi Zosen Inova Deutschland. He succeeds Berthold Büttenbender, who led the company for six years.

Cologne-based Hitachi Zosen Inova Deutschland GmbH (HZID) announced a change in leadership. Qualified engineer Carsten Stölting succeeded Berthold Büttenbender as Managing Director on 1 November 2020. Berthold Büttenbender had been leading the company for six years. He will leave the company by the end of 2020 and will continue to w HZI as an adviser. Furthermore, Carsten Stölting will lead HZI operations for its Systems & Service Business in Central Europe countries (including Germany) and Nordics.

HZID’s core business is servicing, converting and extending Waste to Energy plants and other industrial plants, like the efficiency enhancing of the district heat extraction at the TREA Leuna project, located some 30 km west of Leipzig.

In recent months HZI-Deutschland team in Cologne has been expanded to better service Waste to Energy customers operating in Germany. Carsten Stölting will continue to hone the company’s focus in alignment with the HZI Group: “I’m delighted to be joining a company so rich in tradition, particularly with a team as technically well-versed as the one we have here in Cologne and with such a strong support as the one we are getting from the very experienced teams in Zurich. We will be making a lot happen in 2021.” Carsten Stölting, who has an MBA and a degree in mechanical engineering, is known as a creative visionary with considerable expertise in service business models in plant and mechanical engineering.
