What do you think of when you hear the words "grate" and "summer"? Probably barbecuing sausages on a balmy summer’s evening. Now that it’s barbecue weather, it’s time to treat ourselves to as many evenings grilling as we can. For us at HZI Germany, this summer the word “grate” also means variety. We’ve long been in the business of servicing incineration grates. Now that we have an even bigger network of experienced technicians and have added ESTI to our group, we can offer even more grate services, and more importantly more variations on the various grate technologies. Talk to us. We’ll make you a quote.

We hope you have a wonderful summer. Stay tuned!

You Have to Take Quality into Your Own Hands

Will that weld hold as promised? Weld seams are one of the most sensitive parts of the boiler. Their manufacture must be professionally inspected and supervised to ensure the high quality and long lifetime of the entire system. During our services, welding is coordinated in accordance with ISO 14731. True to our principles of work and quality, the most important key roles are performed by our own specialist employees. Qualified, long-serving staff are the key to delivering on our promise of quality. Only in exceptional cases will key roles be performed by external staff, and here we can draw on partner companies with many years of experience. This way we make sure the experts we deploy have the necessary know-how and are familiar not only with our technology, but with the complexity of the projects we handle. We can also make sure that our high quality standards and schedules are kept to. Ultimately it’s you who benefit.

Here we briefly present of our team and what they do at work and in their private lives. We’re proud of every single person. They’re all passionate about what they do. Uwe Haink is a project manager at our Braschwitz site, and has been with HZI for nine years.

Please briefly explain your role at HZI.
Uwe Haink: I’m a project manager at HZI’s Braschwitz site. My job is about entering data, calculations, managing requests to suppliers, drawing up quotes, preparing and billing service projects. This also involves visiting the relevant construction sites to be able to address the client’s specific needs more closely.

What do you think our biggest challenge will be?
Uwe Haink: Getting well qualified staff on board to work on and execute our projects.

Where do you see HZI’s strengths in comparison with other providers on the market?
Uwe Haink: A flat hierarchy for quick decisions, as well as HZI’s combined engineering, manufacturing and service expertise.

What do you enjoy about your work?
Uwe Haink: It’s a good feeling when the project has gone well and the client is satisfied with us; it shows the effort and time spent on the project was worth it.

How do you get your work-life balance?
Uwe Haink: I’m a member of the athletics section of our local sports club. I also really enjoy excursions in my vintage Trabant. Hiking in nature is another good balance to working in the office.
